Mouse Pads / Mouse

Forums:

I currently own a Roccat Sota mouse pad and a Razer Deathadder, now i am perfectly happy with the Deathadder, although at some point, i will have to upgrade to the new 2013 version as it seems to address the one and only issue i had with the old one, no side grips, plus it has a new more powerful sensor of i think 8200dpi.

Although lately i was lowering my dpi gradually for a smoother feel as suggested by a pro gamer, felt like it was working when i was lowering it bit by bit, but am quite happy atmo with 3000dpi, down from 3500, but yea, the new mouse will be something i will try out, though the led's are green, but meh, my hand will cover that anyway, so i am looking forward to testing that out, but this isnt why i posted, my current mouse pad has had its wear from a few year of use and its bubbled and apart from that, the surface is fine, u can see dust on it from a mile away, but its fine, its granular so its somewhat hard and easy to slide across, which i like, i have never liked clothed mouse matts as they always felt, restrictive to me moving quickly, but in an attempt to improve consistancy with accuracy i decided to buy a steel series qck+, now its bigger than i need but its apparently one of the best cloth matts out there, so if that fails then i will just rebuy a new roccat sota.

So i was wondering, what do the people of extremus own themselfs as far as mouse matts and mice go, and what would they recommend out of their own experience in regards to the products as well as my believed knowledged of lower dpi/high sense to be a better choice for mouse accuracy, instead of high dpi/low sense, which is what i used to have, though in source i had high dpi and high sense, so its gone from 3500dpi @ 8 sense to 3000 @ 2.5, so quite a dramatic change.

All the pro's seem to use around 1000dpi and between 1-3 sense, so i always wondered why, when i always used high dpi and higher sense, until now, so if anyone has an actual educated answer, would love to clarify that.

low sens means larger mouse mat (length of mouse mat = 180-270 degree rotation in game). This adds to better accuracy when in combat however downside is turning round if an enemy is behind you takes some getting used to!

Mine is 350x270x3, i can easily do a 180 with a flick of the wrist, i personally find it is slower to do a full 180 turn if they are behind me with really low sense, so its actually worse in reaction speed, it might be more accurate but in the heat of the moment, turning slowly and turning fast can mean the difference in that sexy flick headshot and lol nice reactions nub, so i tried lowering my dpi/sense until i fount a sweet middle ground so i didn't lose reaction, i know what it means to have the lower sense, i was thinking more of the technical terms for it, low sense obviously means more moving. Dpi is dots per inch i do believe but as to the actual technical use of it, i don't know.

My attempt at gradually lowering my dpi/sense was to slowly allow myself to get used to moving more which increased accuracy and ultimately it is up to me when i find the perfect balance, but i am hoping a new mouse pad might help aid that process, but an actual technical explanation of how dpi works and the benefits/cons of having it higher or lower is mainly what i would like to know, if in failing this, i will google it later, forum post was primarily about the mouse matt and mouse with that added technical question at the end, so what mouse matt and mouse do you use viro, as well as mouse dpi and game sense ?

I'm currently using a Roccat Savu Gaming Mouse with a SteelSeries QcK+ CS:GO Gaming Mouse Pad. :)

Ah, i saw one of those cs:go edition mouse pads, i was tempted but i thought no point spending more for a special edition, when the standard one should be fine, i ain't one for fancy art or anything, i'm a fan of plain subtle colours, I know what that mouse is also, think its a bit small though, but how are you finding the mouse pad, seeing as its pretty much the same one as i have ordered and what settings are u using for dpi/ingame sense
